With “Summer feels” beginning to radiate their way through the atmosphere, we became filled with inspiration and concocted the GENIUS idea to visit the Museum of Ice Cream.
With its location residing in Downtown Los Angeles across the street from our favorite pizza parlor Pizzanista!, the traveling art exhibit made its debut just last year in NYC.
As we pilgrimaged through the mini-funhouse, we were immediately immersed into a whirlpool of vibrant color and delectable flavors & toppings. The ice cream inspired installations and designs felt like a satellite campus to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.
Some of our wildest dreams couldn't compare to the displays of sugary goodness we experienced at MOIC. There was even a swimming pool of sprinkles that you could dive into!
The succulent art (and some help from the G Pen Elite) really worked up our appetites, and lucky for us samples of ice cream laced with toppings were being passed out throughout the visit.
Due to popular demand, the MOIC is unfortunately sold out for the remainder of its LA stay. However, creators have hinted at more cities and other ice cream ventures in the near future. Visit www.museumoficecream.com for more information.

Get educated on the full story of Pizzanista! & more in the video above!
In observance of everyone's favorite holiday 4/20, and cooperation with Pizzanista!, we created the world’s first cannabis leaf-shaped pizza packaged up beautifully in a limited edition pizza box with every purchase of the G Pen capsule.
Chris Folkerts (founder of G Pen) & Salman Agah (founder of Pizzanista!), the two kingpins that make dreams reality.
Like stepping through a psychedelic time warp straight into the bedroom of a 1960's teenager, the party decor was very on point.
Some self proclaimed "black light enthusiasts" took things a step further and attended the event equipped with specialized goggles to enhance their experience.
Shout out to Pizzaboyzzz for stopping through and thus proving to be true lovers of all things pizza (...and beer... and 4/20).
As pizza connoisseurs indulged in some of the best pie Los Angeles has to offer, festivities finally wrapped up around midnight.
Extra special thanks to all who came out to show support and party with the whole GLIFE & Pizzanista! crew.

The Los Angeles-based company has been the victim of such counterfeiting for years due to the extreme popularity of its products, recognizable trademarks, and collaborations with major names such as Snoop Dogg, Burton Snowboards, HUF Worldwide and Taylor Gang. The defendants in question have used these trademarks and collaborative designs to lead consumers to believe they are receiving genuine items instead of poorly made counterfeits. Such items generally use non-certified batteries and materials, which can be not only short-lasting but even potentially hazardous to the user due to minimal protection around the anode and cathode sections within.
According to the Grenco Science complaint, many of the unauthorized sites named in the lawsuit are based overseas and go to great lengths to conceal their identities and thwart shutdown. This includes operating under multiple fictitious names, using numerous merchant accounts and illegitimate search engine optimization tactics to drive traffic away from the genuine Grenco Science online store. The defendants often used logos and images directly sourced from Grenco Science to further deceive possible customers.
"This win represents the first of many in a continued effort against counterfeiters unlawfully infringing upon our intellectual property. And while we're thrilled with this initial outcome, let this serve as notice that we're only getting started," stated Chief Operating Officer Anthony Marino when asked for comment.
Grenco Science is represented by Greer, Burns & Crain Ltd. in the case GS Holistic, LLC v. Shejin Technology Co., LTD., et all (Case No. 17-cv-00246).

]]>With aspirations of making 2017 twice as badass as 2016, we started the year off proper with a trek up the Pacific Coast Highway to check out some of the unbridled beauty Northern California has to offer.
Slightly shy of an hour north of San Luis Obispo, Elephant Seal Vista Point in San Simeon plays host to thousands of elephant seals doing what elephant seals do.
We stocked up with some G Beanies to keep our noggins warm as we marveled at the 2+ ton beasts.
Through curvy roads, sequoias & fog, we arrived in California's oldest state park, Big Basin Redwoods. Primed with our Phil Frost X Burton G Pen Elite, we hiked the East Ridge Trail along Blooms Creek.
Our Phil Frost X Burton Tinder Backpack blended in nicely in the deep forest, a perfect rucksack to keep our Elite & camera gear sheltered.
The Park covers 18,000 acres ranging from sea level to more than 2,000 feet elevation.
Evidence of California's winter storms affecting the whole state. Redwood debris over Blooms Creek.
Nothing tops of a beautiful hike like a gorgeous cruise through Big Sur.

Resting proudly in DTLA's bustling art district lies a slice of Punk Rock / Skateboard heaven, Pizzanista!
Founded in 2011 by skateboarding legend, Salman Agah, the eatery leaps above & beyond traditional pizzeria boundaries.
The name Pizzanista! was inspired from The Clash's album Sandinista. In a feature with LA Magazine, Sal explained "We also liked that ‘nista' means to be a connoisseur of something. We thought it had a really good ring to it."
Stacks on stacks of skateboarding books and magazines are made available for customers to dive into the culture that helped inspire the business.
We broke out the G Pen Elite before helping ourselves to the feast.
As native Angelenos have doubts of a satisfactory burrito existing outside of the borders of this city engrained in our DNA, we can imagine so do New Yorkers have their doubts about finding a decent slice in Los Angeles. Luckily we have Pizzanista! here to do us proud.
The kalamata olives really brought this pizza-by-the-slice to the next level.
Romaine & radicchio, cucumber, gabanzo beans, kalamata olives, pepperoni, red onion, ricotta salata, sopresesata, tomatoes, red wine vinaigrette... I introduce to you, The Spicy Chopped salad. FUEGO!
It's always cool to see establishments you love & respect pay homage to the same roots in the underground that are so important and influential today.
Pizzanista! has collaborated on custom pizza box designs with pro skaters, various companies within the skateboarding industry & even photographers, including Estevan Oriol, bringing his iconic "LA" fingers to the dinner table.
For anyone fighting hunger while on a budget, day old slices are offered for just $1.
So, the next time you're craving a pie, looking to catch up on some skateboard literature, or both, be sure to skate up to Pizzanista! and indulge.

To commemorate the release of the ‘Feels Good To Be Bad’ collaborative collection, Grenco Science assisted Natalie in fulfilling a lifelong dream of showcasing her coveted original artwork in her debut showing last week at the Seventh Letter Gallery in West Hollywood. The event featured the exclusive pre-release of the collaboration, a gallery of Natalie’s paintings, sketches, and an interactive installation bringing the Badwood art and imagery to life.
Recap of the release event: GPEN.COM/FEELSGOODTOBEBAD
About BADWOOD:
Born and raised in the City of Los Angeles, Natalie Wood is a budding young streetwear designer, fine artist and lifestyle influencer. After taking to the streets of Miami to gain knowledge in the competitive world of street art, the iconic Badwood ‘ski mask’ logo was born and can still be seen plastered on the legendary Wynwood Walls to this day. From humble beginnings as a 20 year old one-woman-operation printing in her parents’ garage and performing her distinctive “Blasted by Badwood” marker tattoos on notable celebrities, production of her products soon expanded beyond her solo capability. Still, she is known for her commitment to personally screen printing all of her limited edition collections. “Badwood” the individual is defining a lifestyle among her peers and is awestruck by the growing number of loyalists who follow her commentary and support her imagery.]]>
On December 2nd, we celebrated the release of our collaboration on the 'Feels Good To Be Bad' collection with Badwood, the brainchild of budding young artist & entrepreneur Natalie Wood.
The gala was held at The Seventh Letter gallery on Fairfax, marking a huge milestone for Natalie as her first art gallery showing all of her original paintings and sketches.
Attendees hopped into bed with ski-masked Badwood girls for a photo opportunity in the "Feels Good To Be Bad" bed scene.

Inception of the Phil Frost X Burton project dates back to 2013. As an admirer and avid collector of New York artist Phil Frost’s work, G Pen founder Chris Folkerts visited Frost’s studio at an undisclosed location to acquire a 20-piece luggage art collection which sparked the inspiration for the eventual collaboration and blossomed into a personal friendship. The Burton Snowboards brand, a previous collaborator with G Pen, being well known for their quality luggage curation made tapping into their skills the perfect fit for making this project a reality. With a full line of limited edition Burton travel accessories and snowboard alongside G Pen Elite box set miniature suitcase based on the original collection, this capsule allows everyone to own their own piece of Phil Frost art.

With these last few months of 2016 dwindling down, we voyaged to one of our favorite places for some soul cleansing & fall foliage, an annual trip to the Boundary Water Canoe Area in Superior National Forest.
The BWCA is a protected wilderness area in northern Minnesota, bordering Canada just west of Lake Superior.
Motorboats with up to 25 horsepower are allowed in some parts of the reserve, but the majority of the BWCA is exclusive to canoes & anything else paddle driven only.
Over the span of a week we paddled & portaged over 30 miles from Fall Lake, Northbound along the Canadian border, all the way up past Basswood Falls.
We were lucky enough to spot some pictographs created hundreds of years ago by Native Americans occupying the region, most likely from the Sioux or the Ojibwe tribes.
Despite consistently sunny afternoons, some mornings dipped as low as a frigid 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Fortunately we had our G Pen Elite to start the days off right.
Traces of active wildlife were abundant all around us. Trees bearing the scars of a beaver's work were just a stone's throw from one of our campsites.
Time shifts at different paces when you're withdrawn & disconnected from the turbulent drone of modern civilization, reminding us how valuable a simple rejuvenating breath of fresh air can be.
The Gods of Boundary Water graciously blessed us with some prime fishing allowing us to feast on the freshest Walleye fillets for many of our evenings.
“The serenity of [a placid lake] is a wondrous thing to behold, more precious than the gems coveted & covered in platinum or gold...”
One of the few places not affected by light pollution, the BWCA is an ideal place to view Aurora Borealis, aka the Northern Lights. This year the colliding electrons among the magnetospheric plasma were the most vivid we've experienced yet. Another glorious venture for the books.

The roots of skateboarding's inception are thick & heavy here in the City of Angels. On June 21st, kids & adults alike from all over the county heeded the call for celebration of "Go Skateboarding Day", a holiday not only observed here in one of the skateboarding capitols of the world, but also around the rest of the globe.
Nike SB seized the opportunity to host an event at the legendary (& recently liberated) West LA Courthouse, aka the Santa Monica Courthouse.
Best trick contests, loud music & copious amounts of water consumption occupied the 100°+ temperature day.
Skateboarders, skateboard enthusiasts & curious observers of all ages, backgrounds & lifestyles from far & wide showed face to either participate in the celebration or just catch a glimpse of the action.

With a revolving door of exhibitions sure to keep you coming back for future visits, we were lucky to check out their latest, Cave Temples of Dunhuang: Buddhist Art on China’s Silk Road.
As you should expect, our good friend the G Pen Elite fully enhanced the entire experience.
Hoards of Pre-20th-Century European paintings, a mind-blowing photography archive, a Central Garden that will quickly have you never wanting to leave, all wrapped up in a building design (by Richard Meier) setting an almost unreachable bar for museum experiences in Los Angeles.
